This is a private, separate beautiful spacious “Ohana” (“Mother-in-law-Apartment/guest suite) with fully equipped kitchen in our B&B. It is perfect for 2 people but we do have a very comfortable sofa with memory foam mattress (queen size) for 2 more guests.
We live in a very quiet and residential neighborhood in North Kihei which is very close to the famous “Sugar Beach Bakery” (famous lilikoi key lime pie and fine croissants) and to the Kihei Canoe Club. The center of town is a short drive.
You will be staying in a private separate “Ohana” (like a “mother in law Apartment”) in the lower floor of our 2 story house. It is a fully furnished and fully equipped Apartment, suitable for longer term stay. We do live above where we have another guest room.
The Ohana has one bedroom and one bathroom with a large walk in shower. The living room is open but it has a very comfortable sleeper which can be turned into another Full/ Queen bed. (there is a small extra charge for extra guest(s). And if you want to sleep in the hammock on the lanai, that is free….The kitchen is fully equipped and is ready for real cooking and /or baking.
We also have quite a bit of storage for your suit cases and other potential equipment, e.g golf gear. We provide Beach chairs and Towels. Depending on the conditions, we are happy to share the use of out SUP (Stand up paddle board).
The “Ohana” has it’s separate entrance and also very private large Lanai and your own patio for grilling and relaxing and to enjoy some shade underneath the Palm tress. Towels and toiletries will be provided.
North Kihei, centrally located on the island, is a about 15-20 minute drive from the airport, 20 minutes to Paia and about 25 minutes to Lahaina. All the best beaches are here on the South side of the island and you will have access to all of them within minutes.
Interaction with guests
Since we are living here, we will do our best to be available for you and any questions you might have during your visit. We will be here when you arrive and we will be happy to share our knowledge and experience of the Hawaiian Islands and Maui if you wish. We will honor your privacy if you wish but we will be delighted to share our garden with you.
Other things to note
Please be aware that this is a residential and quiet neighborhood. It is beautiful at night and you may enjoy having a glass of wine on the lanai or look at the stars from the backyard, but we do respect our neighbors and would like guests to know that voices carry easily especially with a breeze; so this is not a “party” place as we do encourage our guests to respect quiet hours from 9pm, to 8am. We, as most people living on Maui will be getting up very early.
You are welcome to use the washer and dryer but we encourage guests to dry towels in the lovely Hawaiian breeze, and only use full loads – we do need to conserve water on this dry side of the island.
Also, we would prefer to rent for minimum of 3 nights but if there is need for less and we have the time available it is OK to check with us.
Check in time is 15:00 (3 PM) because we work, but most of the time we will try accommodate your check-in sooner, we just need to know in advance and we do appreciate if you can let us know when you will be arriving (flight number, etc). Please try to check in before 8:00 PM.But some flights arrive late and we can arrange for later check ins in advance. We are licensed in the State of Hawaii as a B&B and are required to collect the Hawaii Occupancy Tax of 14.42% separately, which we will collect at check in or shortly after.
